About Us

WHO ARE WE

Thephilanews.com is the website of Philadelphia News, a leading Russian-language newspaper in the Philadelphia area, which has been serving the Russian-speaking community for over 15 years. We recognize the media gap that exists between the Russian and American communities due to linguistic, cultural and other barriers, and we strive to bridge this gap by packaging the main local and national content in a way that fits our readers. However, we focus mainly on original local as well as national information on issues and issues that are important and have the greatest impact on our specific readers.

Our mission

To provide our readers with intriguing, inspiring, eclectic, informative, useful, and interesting content that is fresh and important to their daily lives, create a virtual gathering place for the community and help facilitate the integration process for immigrants. We are working hard to provide our readers with high-quality media products that include news, events, art, culture, entertainment, as well as services in the field of business, real estate, technology, politics and advertising.

Our logo

In the center of Philadelphia, right across from our iconic 19th-century town hall, is a 45-foot-high clothespin. Unlike many other Philadelphia symbols, such as the Liberty Bell, William Penn and the skyline, we wanted the logo to be unique, but still symbolize Philadelphia and the values of our company. This colossal statement in the style of pop art, which lies in the city center, has become an urban attraction that is hard to miss. Designed by Klas Oldenberg, who immigrated to the United States from Sweden as a child, and installed in 1976, the clothespin represents our values in the unique, intriguing and eclectic content that we provide to our readers.
